Waar zit de clitoris? De anatomie van de clitoris in 3D!

Where is the clitoris? 3D clitoral anatomy!

"Where is the clitoris?" A good question...! The tip of the volcano sits enticingly on the outside, but most of the mountain lies inside. Our pleasure organ is largely hidden in the vagina. The photo above is a full-size 3D model of the clitoris' anatomy.

The convincing proof: the clitoris in 3D shows that the clit is very large. And not just very large, but also very sensitive! No fewer than thousands of nerve endings can stimulate us to great pleasure… Women have sensation in their pussy. Hooray! The Tarzan (duo vibrator) wasn't so crazy after all, and the G-spot exists! Science just had to prove it.

For about 20 years, MRI scans have taught us that the clitoris extends deeper into the vagina. Since Dr. Grafenberg (in the 1950s), we've called the blissful spot we can experience through penetration the G-spot. We don't care what we call it, as long as all women know that a world of pleasure awaits them inside the vagina! And it's important knowledge not only for women and people with vaginas, but for everyone to get to know this pleasure organ, the clitoris, better.

How big is a clitoris?

What exactly is the anatomy of the clitoris and how big is it? On the outside of your genitals, the vulva, you can find the clitoris's tip. At the top of the vulvar lips, you'll find the inner lips. These inner lips are usually longer than the outer lips. If you go to the top of the inner lips, you'll find the clitoral bud. This is usually protected by the hood; similar to a glans and foreskin. If you pull the hood up, you'll see a small nub. The size of the clitoris varies from person to person. The external bud is part of the average 10 cm of the clitoris, which is located inside the vagina.

In this photo, you can see that the clitoris isn't just a pea on the outside. It has four "legs," each about 10 cm long. The two thin legs are extremely sensitive and contain thousands of nerve endings. The two thick legs are the erectile tissues. These tissues fill with blood (just like the penis) when the clitoris is aroused. These "legs" wrap around the vagina. During penetration, the sensitive nerve endings and erectile tissues are stimulated by the intercourse motion, creating a pleasurable feeling in the vagina.

You only feel it when you know it!

You could say that "vaginal orgasms" are actually "clitoral orgasms." Is that important? Yes, because many women don't experience sensation in their vaginas. So it's important that we understand how we function and how we can activate and utilize our pleasure organs for our own enjoyment!

The clitoris & the G-spot

When aroused, not only does the knob on the outside become more visible, but the 'back' of the clitoris also swells. This tissue is also known as the G-spot or G-zone .

How does the clitoris work?

For your clitoris, arousal comes first. Arousal is the first requirement for enjoyable sex. It's crucial to realize that what applies to the penis also applies to the clit: both must be aroused to enjoy penetration. Just like with a penis, the erectile tissues of the clitoris fill with blood. (A full clitoris can hold a cup of blood), and this makes it large and sensitive when aroused, making it easily stimulated.

The fact is, a penis cannot penetrate if it's not aroused. A vagina can be penetrated even if it's not aroused. That's why it's all the more important that you get to know your own body well, give yourself time to become aroused, and never feel rushed.

Stimulating the clit

You can imagine that penetration can be quite difficult for women and vagina owners if the clitoris isn't aroused. The pleasure organ then lies limp and somewhat lifeless in the vagina... So the clit needs to be stimulated and stimulated! In principle, anything stimulating and exciting can be a good preparation. Watching a sexy movie or book Reading can also be very exciting. Flirting with your lover or sharing a fantasy can also really stoke the fire. The important thing is that it turns you on! But with nice, smooth lubricant and a good vibrator, you really can't go wrong, as the much-praised Womanizer !

4 tickling techniques:

  1. Indirect stimulation: The outer clitoris may be too sensitive to direct stimulation right away. Begin with indirect stimulation by rubbing the hood of the clitoris in a circular motion.
  2. Use lubricant: lubricant is nice and smooth, preventing friction, making it easier to relax and allow yourself to feel the pleasure.
  3. Direct stimulation: As you become more aroused, the clitoris swells, and so does the tip. This can then emerge from under the hood. You can also pull the hood upwards to expose the tip. You can then stimulate it directly.
  4. Vibrator: The clitoris is sensitive to friction and vibration. Therefore, a vibrator is an excellent tool for external clitoral stimulation. A dildo is designed for penetration and stimulates the sensitive nerve endings inside the vagina.

Stimulating the clitoris in the vagina

Anatomy makes it understandable why vulva owners can enjoy penetration. This is, of course, a clever idea from the "designer" of our genitals. After all, reproduction requires two parties who are willing to cooperate.
Of course, we've experienced the pleasure of penetration for as long as we've had sex. But penetration wasn't without its inherent tensions in the 1970s and 1980s. In certain feminist circles, it wasn't politically correct to have sex with a man. As a feminist, you could become very insecure if you felt you were doing something wrong while enjoying penetration/penis stimulation. The basis for this belief was that women couldn't experience pleasure from penetration because they were considered to have no sensation in their vaginas. Sex was supposed to serve only the man's pleasure, making it a form of oppression, and "you didn't sleep with your oppressor." The "culprit" for the belief that women should climax through penetration came from Freud. The psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud believed that pleasure and orgasms from clitoral (read: external clitoris) stimulation were childish and a sign that a woman hadn't developed into an adult. An adult woman was supposed to climax through vaginal penetration, while—oh, the frustration!—many women couldn't experience any pleasure from penetration at all. A counter-narrative from activists was inevitable, and thus arose the voice of women rejecting penetration.

The Discovery of Tarzan

But there were also women who did enjoy penetration. They claimed to experience sensation and pleasure in their vaginas and took action to do so. Sex-positive activists were particularly creative and vocal in San Francisco. This movement spread to Europe, and in Amsterdam, groups and clubs emerged that championed women's sexual experiences. As the first feminist sex company in Europe, Mail & Female launched its sensational Mail Order catalog, which was innovative in every respect. "Every girl a vibrator" was one of the slogans. Emancipation and recognition of women's right to pleasure were their mission. The discovery of Tarzan An "Proof" that there must indeed be sensation in the vagina, because "why else were such vibrators made…?" And every woman should be able to experience that! See here the necessity of founding Mail & Female 🙂
There's still debate in science about the existence of the G-spot and vaginal (squirting) orgasms. But with the 3D clitoris, we can now demonstrate just how magnificently our pleasure body stretches and learn how it works.

Vagina and penis aren't that different...

Vagina & penis look similar and in fact function exactly the same. We are all designed as 'woman' or with a vagina at the beginning. Depending on the development of the embryo, the XX chromosome becomes a YX = "a traditional man" or remains an XX = "a traditional woman". If you look closely at the dick and scrotum, you can still see the seam where the vagina was closed. So we see that the penis is an inverted vulva and clitoris; where the penis is directed outwards, the vagina is stored within the body. With the comparable glans, the extra-clitoris appears as a bump under the hood (foreskin) on the outside. Our genitals are similar in appearance, and also functionally. Because both organs fill with blood and become erect when we are aroused.
There are also all sorts of variations possible in the appearance of our genitals. In reality, a "vagina" and a "penis" aren't separate categories that belong to either a "man" or a "woman," but rather a scale within which all sorts of variations exist.

Get to know your own body

Your clitoris is different from everyone else's. Just like penises, all clitorises are different. You have large ones and small ones, thick ones and thin ones. And they can also shift suddenly, so sometimes you might not feel anything at all, whereas before you always felt like bingo. It's all very exciting and nothing to be insecure about.

It's important that we get to know our own bodies well; understand their functions and anatomy. Above all, we must learn to trust and love our bodies.
See the illustrations of Hilde Atlanta with the enormous variety of vulvas.

You can also Take part in workshops at Mail & Female , where you can learn all about functions & anatomy and how to stimulate the clitoris.

You can already start at home with the following exercise:

  1. Grab a (hand) mirror
  2. Lie comfortably with a pillow on your back so you can bend forward easily
  3. With your knees bent, spread your legs so that your vulva is clearly visible
  4. With one hand, hold the mirror near your vulva so you can see it clearly
  5. Look at and admire your unique vulva and name for yourself what you see
  6. With the other hand, spread the outer lips of the vulva
  7. Follow the inner lips to where they meet at the top, underneath the hood is your clitoris!
  8. When you're aroused, you can see your clitoris more clearly. Your entire vulva also swells. So it's really fun to start in a non-aroused state and see how your vulva changes as arousal increases.

Your largest erogenous zone is your brain

The "legs," with their many nerve endings, communicate directly with your brain. When it feels good and you're horny, your brain is stimulated, and your hormones are activated. The more pleasurable sexual experiences you have, the better and faster it works. In fact, your brain is your largest erogenous organ because it's where "consent" for sex is given. It's also important to know that the female brain works differently than the male brain. It's generally easier for men to receive/create sexual stimuli, simply because they can see and feel an erection. For women, the sexual context is crucial, with a sense of safety and trust being crucial. Read more about this in the blog post about the female orgasm .
It's all important to understand how our body and brain work: when you are horny, the clitoris will become erect and if the conditions are positive (brain says yes), you will have a desire for sex and an orgasm.

Head, heart and body work together

For enjoyable sex, it's important to have your head, heart, and body aligned. This process, which takes place between the ears, requires an active breeding ground in the pelvic floor area; your erogenous zone, where your clitoris is located. This is also where we find the G-spot. It's definitely worth understanding the sensitivities of this area and how to activate it for our pleasure.
A healthy pelvic floor area is important for your physique. With a strong pelvic floor/ PC muscles You'll not only be more powerful in your sexuality, but you'll also be more powerful in your life.
